Notes: The Gulf keeps on rollin’ – this was the 137th Gulf lease sale. Congrats to Bryan Domangue on being named Gulf of America Regional Director for the Marine Minerals Administration! The WWII Museum in New Orleans was a nice venue for the sale.

IRF conference slides

NOPSEMA has kindly provided links for the slides presented at the 3-4 October International Regulators’ Forum Offshore Safety Conference in Perth, Australia. They will be uploading the video recordings at a later date.

On day 2 (stream 2) Bryan Domangue (BSEE) presented updated data on the progress that is being made in plugging inactive wells and decommissioning idle platforms (see the charts pasted below). In the following session, Bryan made an interesting presentation on the capping stack deployment exercises in the GoM (picture below).

Congratulations to Bryan Domangue, BSEE’s new Gulf of Mexico Regional Director

Mr. Domangue began his career with BSEE in 1997 and has more than 30 years of experience in the oil and gas industry. He has served as the Deputy Regional Director for Districts, Investigations, Environmental, and Enforcement (DIEE), as Senior Technical Advisor for the BSEE Gulf of Mexico Region and was the Acting Chief of the National Offshore Training Center. Mr. Domangue also previously served as Office Supervisor for Regional Operations, and as District Manager for the Houma District Office of the BSEE Gulf of Mexico OCS Region. He holds a BS degree in petroleum engineering from Louisiana State University.
