In recent years various bodies have concluded that certain MMS offices and programs have violated ethical rules or guidelines. In the wake of the Deepwater Horizon disaster, some questioned whether ethical lapses played any role in causing the blowout. The Chief Counsel‘s team found no evidence of any such lapses.

Thanks Jan. While a lot of garbage has been written, I want to acknowledge the reporters who have taken the time to look look closely at the issues. They have been quite fair in their treatment of MMS. I have also heard from many industry and governmental personnel (from the US and around the world) who have expressed their support for the employees of MMS.
